Bracket Colorizer shipped with one palette, and you edited it one level at a time. That's fine right up until you want your brackets to look like the editor you came from, or you finally get the colors right and then have nowhere to put them. Templates fix both, and they came in two releases.
Seven palettes that ship with it
1.1.0 added predefined colorscheme templates, because someone asked for them. Instead of picking the nesting colors yourself you can just grab one: VS Code Dark+, VS Code Light+, VS Code High Contrast Dark, One Dark Pro, Dracula, Nord, or the Viasfora rainbow. Picking one swaps every level at once. Your own colors aren't thrown away while a template is on, so you can try a few and still go back.
Saving your own
1.2.0 is the other half of it. "Save as template" takes the colors you picked by hand and turns them into a named entry of your own, so an evening of fiddling with hex codes is something you can come back to instead of something you lose.
Reworking one you already have
"Change template" opens any of them up, the ones that ship with the plugin included. Rename it, repaint it, add or drop levels, flip its switches, then keep it with "Save" or throw the whole thing out with "Discard". Nothing sticks until you say so.
Keeping the list in order
"Customize templates" is for the list itself. Edit or delete single entries, clear the lot, or put the built-in templates back the way they shipped. That last one leaves your own templates alone, so you can reset the defaults without losing anything you made.
How to get it
It's on the JetBrains Marketplace. Settings/Preferences → Plugins → Marketplace, search for "Bracket Colorizer," and hit Install. If you already have it, it's just an update.
